Having dry eyes is one of the eye problems I do not wish to have.  It is very hard because you cannot enjoy reading just like a friend of mine.  From time to time, she has to put some eye drops to make her eyes wet.  This is a big hassle on her.

In the US alone, approximately 20 million are affected by this problem and they have to resort to artificial tears to address this particular problem.  However, instead of alleviating the situation, it makes it worse because of the preservatives in it.  If you are planning to undergo Lasik, think twice before having one if you have dry eyes problem as this may cause some complications.   Good thing, Stahl Eye Center has developed Restasis.  It is a FDA approved prescription medication for dry eyes treatment.  With 35 years of experience in the field of treating eye problems and doctors from top universities like UCLA, John Hopkins and Yale, every patient is assured of excellent service.   Stahl Eye Center is located in New York including Manhattan and Long Island.

Dry eye syndrome is caused by a chronic lack of sufficient lubrication and moisture on the surface of the eye. According to Arizona eye care, dry eyes are also called keratitis sicca which generally means decreased quality or quantity of tears. Keratoconjunctivitis sicca refers to eye dryness affecting the cornea and conjunctiva.
